Survey Reveals This Season’s Most Expensive Ski Resorts

A recent survey ranks the most expensive ski resorts in the United States by the cost of lodging during the February and March ski season. According to the study, Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, tops the list: the resort’s least expensive guestrooms average $543 per night during those peak months.

The analysis, carried out by CheapHotels.org, assessed 20 well-known ski destinations across the country. Each destination included in the comparison offers at least 3-star accommodations and convenient access to ski terrain.

Following Deer Valley is Colorado’s Beaver Creek, where the resort’s least expensive rooms average $416 per night. Utah’s Alta ski area ranks closely behind, with an average starting rate of $413 for the most affordable guestrooms.

Most of the destinations on the list are in Colorado or Utah, with several resorts from California and Wyoming rounding out the rankings. The survey focused on average room rates for the most affordable guestroom on the property during February and March 2019, providing a snapshot of lodging costs during prime ski season.
