Two new upper-upscale Westin hotels are planned for Canada: The Westin Calgary Airport and The Westin Edmonton Gateway.
“These hotels are a great example of how Starwood is working proactively to increase our portfolio throughout Canada with the right partners, the right properties and in the right places,” said Scott T. Duff, senior director of development – Canada & Alaska, Starwood Hotels and Resorts. “Our solid portfolio of 67 hotels in the country across seven of our brands positions us well for continued growth across the country across all segments.”
The Westin Calgary Airport will be located directly on the Calgary International Airport campus. This five-story property is planned to offer 250 guestrooms, along with approximately 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, a full-service restaurant and a lounge. Its airport-adjacent location will make it convenient for business travelers and transiting guests who need close, reliable accommodation and amenities.
Near The Anthony Henday Drive in Edmonton, The Westin Edmonton Gateway will provide 225 guestrooms and a selection of guest services tailored to both corporate and leisure travelers. The property is expected to include a Westin Club Lounge, a full restaurant, a contemporary bar and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space suitable for conferences, banquets and corporate events. Its location near major road links aims to offer easy access to Edmonton’s business districts and local attractions.
Both hotels reflect the Westin brand’s focus on wellness, comfort and elevated service, including signature bedding, thoughtful in-room amenities and public spaces designed for productivity and relaxation. With these additions, Starwood continues to expand its presence in key Canadian markets, aiming to meet demand from travelers seeking dependable upper-upscale accommodations with extensive meeting facilities.
Schedule details and opening dates have not been announced. As development progresses, the properties will join the company’s growing Canadian portfolio and broaden options for travelers and event planners across Alberta.
