Starwood Adds New Luxury Hotels to Its Peru Collection

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced that Palacio del Inka in Cusco, Peru has joined The Luxury Collection following an extensive $15 million renovation. Situated in the historic heart of Cusco and directly opposite the preserved ruins of the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), the hotel offers 203 guestrooms, a full-service spa, and meeting and event facilities capable of accommodating up to 400 guests.

The property blends colonial architecture with Andean heritage, showcasing restored period details and locally inspired design elements. Guest rooms and public spaces reflect regional craftsmanship and materials, while modern amenities support both leisure travelers and conferences. The spa provides traditional and contemporary treatments, and the hotel’s event venues are equipped for weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings.

“Latin America presents a wide range of distinctive destinations that appeal to global travelers seeking authentic experiences paired with exceptional service and style,” said Osvaldo Librizzi, co-president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Americas. “As The Luxury Collection expands across the region, we continue to add properties that represent local history and cultural richness. We are honored to welcome Palacio del Inka, which embodies centuries of heritage and indigenous charm.”

Palacio del Inka is the third Peruvian hotel to join The Luxury Collection, joining Hotel Paracas and Tambo del Inka Resort & Spa. Its central location offers guests easy access to Cusco’s main attractions, culinary scene, and archaeological sites, making it a convenient base for exploring the Sacred Valley and other nearby historic destinations.

The renovation focused on preserving the building’s historic character while upgrading infrastructure and guest services. Restored architectural elements, refined interiors, and enhanced public amenities were prioritized to deliver a high-end hospitality experience that respects the site’s cultural significance.

With this addition, The Luxury Collection continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America, offering travelers a curated selection of distinctive hotels that emphasize local identity, authentic storytelling, and personalized service.
