Southwest Airlines has announced additional routes and expanded flight schedules through Oct. 1. Beginning Aug. 7, the carrier will operate five departures per weekday and three departures per day on weekends between Nashville (BNA) and Atlanta (ATL).
Also starting Aug. 7, Southwest will launch a new nonstop daily service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Tampa (TPA). The airline will add another daily frequency on the Los Angeles–New Orleans (MSY) and Los Angeles–Portland (PDX) corridors, increasing options for travelers on each route.
“This new route responds to requests from the business communities in both Nashville and Atlanta,” said Trevor Stedke, vice president at Southwest. “We look forward to demonstrating how our low fares, no change fees, and signature hospitality will make travel easier between these growing cities.” He added that the schedule extension through the third quarter of the year underscores Southwest’s commitment to connecting people and communities with friendly, reliable, low-cost air travel.
Additional network enhancements and schedule adjustments are planned as the airline continues to respond to customer demand and market opportunities.
