Sol Hotels Updates: Latest Announcements and Offers

Melia Hotels International’s Sol Hotels & Resorts has announced an ambitious refresh of its brand, introducing new concepts designed to modernize the beach-hotel experience and broaden appeal across different guest segments. With a portfolio of around 70 family-oriented properties worldwide, the company aims to boost value for guests, sharpen brand positioning and deliver more distinctive stays through four tailored concepts.

The four new concepts are:

  • Sol Hotels: The flagship family offering, featuring extensive family services and amenities tailored to multigenerational vacations.
  • Sol Katmandu Park & Resort: A fully integrated “play and stay” concept where a resort and a themed attraction coexist, creating immersive entertainment and accommodation in one destination.
  • Sol House: A lifestyle-driven concept aimed primarily at millennials, combining contemporary design, lively social spaces and affordable experiences focused on energy and style.
  • Sol Beach House: An adults-focused “house on the beach” concept for guests aged 16 and over, featuring a hippie-chic aesthetic that blends modern comforts with vintage touches for a relaxed, stylish stay.

In addition to the conceptual rollout, Sol Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in the Red Sea region of Egypt with two new properties. These openings reinforce the brand’s commitment to coastal destinations and active seaside offerings:

Sol Taba sits near the Gulf of Aqaba and provides a substantial beachfront and resort facilities. The hotel offers 440 rooms, approximately 290 meters of private beach, two swimming pools, tennis and volleyball courts, several restaurants and bars, and three meeting rooms—positioning it for both leisure travelers and groups.

Sol Dahab is located along a 400-meter stretch of beach on the southeast coast of the Sinai Peninsula. The property features 217 rooms and a well-rounded array of amenities, including a spa, gym, kids club, beauty center, event facilities, a tennis court, and a dedicated diving and windsurfing center, along with multiple dining options, catering to active travelers and families seeking water-sport experiences.

These initiatives reflect Sol Hotels & Resorts’ strategy to diversify its product offering across age groups and travel styles while reinforcing its family-friendly heritage. By creating distinct concepts—ranging from family-centric resorts to adult-only beach houses and millennial-focused lifestyle hotels—the brand is positioning itself to capture a broader share of beach and resort demand, adapt to evolving guest expectations and provide clearer choices for travelers.

New property openings in Egypt also demonstrate the brand’s focus on growth in high-demand coastal markets where water sports, relaxation and resort amenities drive occupancy. With dedicated facilities for sports, entertainment and events, the new hotels aim to attract both leisure visitors and groups looking for activity-rich stays.
