Snowmass Colorado New Developments as All Four Mountains Prep for Winter

With snowflakes expected any day, Snowmass in Pitkin County is preparing new on-mountain offerings for the winter season. Nestled in the Roaring Fork River valley near the mouth of Snowmass Creek along State Highway 82 between Aspen and Basalt, the Snowmass complex is part of the Aspen Snowmass family, which also includes Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain and Aspen Highlands. This year’s updates aim to improve access, dining, events and guest experiences across more than 3,300 acres of skiable terrain.

Among the upgrades, the new Coney Express chairlift debuts across from Snowmass Mall to provide faster, more convenient access to terrain across the mountain. Lynn Britt Cabin has been renovated to enhance its outdoor and deck spaces, creating an inviting spot for quick snacks or longer après-ski gatherings; the updated cabin also includes a DJ booth for seasonal entertainment.

Collective Snowmass expands its programming this season with regular events designed for visitors and locals alike. New offerings include a Jazz Supper Club series on most Friday evenings, a painting class led by local artist Kelly Peters, seasonal appearances by Santa Claus during the holidays, and a Galentine’s Day brunch on Feb. 16. Winter Comedy returns on Wednesdays featuring national and regional comedians, while Collective’s winter market and other seasonal activations will take place across the season.

Guests staying at Limelight Snowmass can reserve Therabody recovery products complimentary, including popular items such as the Theragun Pro, TheraCup, Wave Duo, Wave Solo, Wave Roller, RecoveryAir JetBoots, Therabody Goggles and TheraFace Mask. These amenities aim to help skiers and riders recover after a day on the mountain.

Limelight Hotels is promoting a Summer Sunsets offer that applies through Oct. 31, providing 30 percent off stays of three or more nights at Limelight Snowmass. The package includes a welcome gift, complimentary breakfast each morning, a $100 food and beverage credit, and access to a fully electric Audi e-tron as part of Limelight’s Audi drive experience.

The Limelight Snowmass Rock-Climbing Train & Adventure program is a signature offering for adventurous guests. The multi-day experience begins indoors at Limelight’s climbing wall — one of the tallest in Colorado — where participants receive instruction, gear orientation and guiding from Aspen Expedition professionals. After two days of training and practice, guests move their skills outdoors for guided climbing on Independence Pass, a route that reflects the terrain that inspired the training program.

Arts and cultural programming at Anderson Ranch Arts Center complements Snowmass’s outdoor activities. Located in the heart of Snowmass, Anderson Ranch invites guests to explore exhibitions, join workshops, attend community discussions and shop the ArtWorks store for supplies, crafts and gifts. Limelight guests receive a lunch voucher to use during visits. Scheduled fall and early winter offerings include a panel discussion on cultural identity and representation, a visiting artist lecture, and seasonal family-oriented craft events. A new exhibition this season, Last Eagle/Last Gun: Modern Recordings of Ancient Blackfoot Symbolism, is set to run from Nov. 18 through Jan. 24.

On Dec. 14, Snowmass will host a Winter Intentions Lantern Display, encouraging guests and locals to set intentions by lighting lanterns on Snowmass Mall or in Snowmass Base Village. That day will also include extended s’mores and a complimentary hot chocolate event.
