As airport construction continues, LaGuardia Airport is moving six airlines into new terminals to reduce delays and improve operational efficiency.
Beginning Dec. 9, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, Frontier and Spirit will operate from updated terminal locations.
American Airlines will consolidate its operations into Terminal B and will no longer operate out of Terminal C. Delta Air Lines will split operations between Terminals C and D. JetBlue and Alaska will relocate to Terminal A, while Frontier and Spirit will move to Terminal D.
“We want to provide LaGuardia’s passengers and employees with ample time to become aware and prepare for these significant changes to existing flight operations,” said Lysa Scully, general manager, LaGuardia Airport. “We are working with our airline partners to make the terminal consolidation changes as convenient as possible for our passengers as they navigate the airport during this exciting — but extremely busy — time in LaGuardia’s storied history.”
The terminal reshuffling is expected to reduce confusion and shorten connection times. American’s consolidation into a single terminal will simplify gate access and wayfinding for its customers. Delta passengers will benefit from co-located services, including access to the Delta Sky Club in Terminal C for eligible travelers.
These adjustments are part of the broader $8 billion renovation project at LaGuardia, which aims to deliver a modern, upscale, and more efficient airport experience. The redevelopment focuses on improved passenger flow, updated amenities, and upgraded infrastructure to better serve travelers and airline operations alike.
Passengers traveling through LaGuardia should check their airline’s communications and flight details ahead of travel to confirm terminals and gate information. The airport and airlines continue coordinating to update signage, staff assistance, and digital information to help passengers navigate the changes with minimal disruption.
Overall, the terminal moves reflect LaGuardia’s effort to streamline operations during construction and lay the groundwork for a long-term, improved travel experience as the renovation progresses.
