Singapore Airlines Partners with easyJet: What It Means for Passengers

Singapore Airlines and its low-cost subsidiary Scoot have joined Worldwide by easyJet, the carrier’s self-connect service. The partnership lets easyJet customers book seamless connections onto Singapore Airlines flights at Milan Malpensa Airport and onto Scoot services at Berlin Tegel Airport.

These connections are expected to go live within the coming months and expand easyJet’s Worldwide network to include 10 partner airlines and around 100 onward destinations across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Worldwide by easyJet launched last year and initially featured connections with Norwegian and WestJet. Since that launch, the program has expanded to include additional partners such as Corsair, Le Compagnie, Loganair and Thomas Cook, with more airlines in advanced discussions.

The service allows customers to book connecting and onward flights directly via easyjet.com, simplifying the booking process for multi-carrier itineraries. easyJet stresses that Worldwide does not alter its operating model or affect the airline’s punctuality and asset utilization.

Under the program rules, customers should allow a minimum connection time of 2.5 hours when planning itineraries that combine easyJet and partner flights. Flights are not held for connecting passengers, so passengers must plan for the minimum connection window and allow adequate time for transfers and any required formalities.

“We are pleased to see a strong appetite from partner airports and airlines to expand Worldwide across our network, allowing us to access a greater range of passengers flying across Europe,” said Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet.

Since its launch almost 12 months ago, Worldwide by easyJet has grown quickly. The program will soon cover over half of easyJet’s flights, enabling approximately 53 million easyJet customers to book connecting services with partner airlines and other easyJet flights in a single transaction through the carrier’s online portal.

easyJet points to its reputation for reliable customer service and its strong positions at major European airports as key reasons global carriers and airports are seeking partnerships. The airline says it continues to add new partners and airports to Worldwide by easyJet, and that discussions are already advanced with several Middle Eastern carriers and others.
