Seabourn recently unveiled two new wellness-focused cruises to the Arabian region and the South Pacific, set to depart later this year and in early 2020. These voyages were developed in collaboration with Dr. Andrew Weil and build on the line’s existing Spa & Wellness programming.
“Wellness is a growing phenomenon — and rightly so — as people around the world seek to live better, healthier and more mindfully for the benefit of their overall wellbeing,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “We have had great success with Spa & Wellness with Dr. Andrew Weil on Seabourn voyages around the world, and we’re excited to follow up our past two wellness cruises with these new opportunities to learn from a group of highly regarded experts.”
Route to Ancient Wellness (Arabian Cruise)
The Arabian itinerary, titled Route to Ancient Wellness, will sail Nov. 13–Dec. 2 aboard the Seabourn Ovation. Departing from Athens, the voyage traces historic Mediterranean trade routes and culminates in Dubai. The onboard program includes workshops, panel discussions and shore excursions led by Dr. Weil, alongside sessions conducted by specialists in traditional energy healing, mind–body medicine and the links between personal health and the environment. The itinerary blends cultural exploration with practical wellness techniques designed to support long-term wellbeing.
Wellness in the South Pacific
The Wellness in the South Pacific cruise is scheduled for Feb. 21–March 8, 2020, departing from Auckland, New Zealand. The voyage visits multiple New Zealand islands before heading to Australia, calling on ports including Melbourne and other destinations in Victoria and New South Wales, and concluding in Sydney. Throughout the journey, a roster of experts will lead focused programs addressing women’s health, genetics, mental health and mindfulness-based stress reduction, offering travelers evidence-informed tools and practices to manage stress and improve overall health.
Both cruises emphasize experiential learning, combining scenic travel with structured wellness content so guests can explore new places while engaging in meaningful health and lifestyle programming. With input from Dr. Weil and other specialists, Seabourn aims to provide a balanced mix of educational sessions, hands-on activities and restorative spa experiences tailored to diverse wellness interests.
