Scarlet Summer Pass: Virgin Voyages’ New Seasonal Cruise Access

Leave it to Virgin Group founder Richard Branson to reimagine travel for the modern age. This summer, Virgin Voyages blends the remote-work lifestyle with upscale cruising through the Scarlet Summer Season Pass. During the Work From Helm month at sea, Sailors can spend four weeks aboard Scarlet Lady exploring the Mediterranean without skipping meetings, deadlines or team check-ins — and with unbeatable Zoom backgrounds.

Running between June and September 2024, the Scarlet Summer Season Pass connects nine premier destinations across Spain, Italy and France. Passengers can pick a four-week itinerary that includes stops in Cannes, Civitavecchia (Rome), Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Ajaccio (Corsica) and more. In addition to back-to-back voyages, the season pass includes a dedicated concierge to plan experiences ashore — from a reservation at the ship’s Korean BBQ to a guided day trip to the UNESCO-listed Cinque Terre — ensuring every detail is handled.

Branson framed the concept around his own approach to work and life: “I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to do my work from anywhere. When I started Virgin, I was actually working out of a houseboat. I’ve never thought of work and play as two different things; it’s all just living. We want to give Sailors that same opportunity, so we came up with this idea to have them travel the world while working aboard our beautiful ships.”

Scarlet Lady is outfitted to support both productivity and leisure. The ship uses integrated SES Cruise mPOWERED + Starlink PRO technology, delivering industry-leading connectivity with speeds up to 1.5 Gbps per ship. Complimentary WiFi is available for all Sailors and crew, along with included gratuities, group fitness classes such as yoga, HIIT and spin, soft drinks, coffee and tea, and a range of Michelin-inspired dining options across more than 20 venues.

The Scarlet Summer Season Pass for two starts at $9,990 and links four consecutive voyages with accommodations in a Central Sea Terrace — a prime location on the ship. Cabins are designed for comfort and convenience, with mood lighting, in-room tablets to control blinds, climate and entertainment, rainfall showers and the signature Virgin red hammock on the outdoor balcony.
