Arrival/Check-In: After arriving in sunny Puerto Rico, I took a 15-minute cab to the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, located directly on Condado Beach. The recently redesigned lobby was lively with travelers enjoying complimentary tropical drinks while waiting to check in. Staff greeted me promptly and directed me to an oceanfront guestroom.
Guest Quarters: The San Juan Marriott offers the familiar comforts of a high-quality resort: a cozy queen-sized bed, a large flat-screen TV on a roomy dresser, and a full bathroom with a tub and shower combination. A spacious desk with accessible outlets occupied one corner, and a plush orange chair provided a comfortable spot to relax. When I opened the curtains along the far wall, a large balcony revealed a sweeping view of Condado Beach. Warm Caribbean air and sunlight filled the room as I looked down at the white sand dotted with blue umbrellas and beachgoers. The room was clean, comfortable and filled with natural light from the balcony.
Services/Amenities: The hotel enjoys a prime position on Condado Beach, a stretch known for its white sand and lively beachfront scene; swimmers should be aware that currents can be strong. After sunset, the resort comes alive with a colorful casino, a full-service spa, several dining options and the newly renovated Red Coral Lounge, which serves fresh mojitos and nightly entertainment. The location is also ideal for exploring the island: Ashford Avenue is lined with gourmet restaurants, upscale shops and other resorts and casinos. A short cab ride puts you in the historic cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, at the Bacardi Rum Factory for a tour, or back at the airport for departures.

Whether you visit for a long stay or a weekend getaway, the resort makes it easy to enjoy the best of the island. I found my stay enjoyable and would return on a future trip to Puerto Rico.
