Ritz-Carlton Waikiki Unveils New Signature Guest Experiences

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, marking its 10th anniversary, introduces a new collection of signature experiences that offer a contemporary and authentic interpretation of Oʻahu. Designed to celebrate local culture, craftsmanship and community, the program invites guests to engage meaningfully with Hawaiian traditions and the island’s natural beauty.

The Craft of Poke

This two-hour culinary workshop, led by Executive Chef Reid Matsumura, mixes hands-on technique with cultural context to trace poke from its traditional origins to modern variations. Participants learn how to choose the freshest local ingredients, balance flavors and season properly while creating their own poke bowls. The Craft of Poke can also be arranged as an in-room experience for guests staying in Premier-level suites. Available Sunday through Thursday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; reservations required. Pricing begins at $450 per guest for groups of four to 12.

The Art of Lāʻī

The Art of Lāʻī is a guided exploration of the sacred ti leaf led by a cultural specialist. Guests learn respectful gathering protocols and discover the plant’s medicinal, ceremonial and spiritual uses before participating in a hands-on lei-making workshop. Offered daily between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. by reservation for two to six guests. Pricing is $250 per guest.

The Story of Mānoa

The Story of Mānoa combines a private guided hike to Mānoa Falls with the Mānoa Mist signature spa treatment at The Ritz-Carlton Spa. Along the hike, guests learn the valley’s legends and natural history; the experience concludes with a 105-minute spa ritual inspired by the valley’s mist and native botanicals. The guided hike is available daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the spa treatment. Advance reservations required; pricing starts at $1,700 for two guests.

Lauhala Weaving Experience

In the Lauhala Weaving Experience, a cultural practitioner teaches guests how to gather and prepare dried pandanus leaves and introduces foundational weaving techniques. Participants create a personal keepsake—such as a bracelet or bookmark—during the 90-minute session. Offered daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for parties of two to six guests; pricing is $250 per guest.

Private Lūʻau Experience

The Private Lūʻau Experience is hosted on the resort’s sun deck overlooking Waikīkī Beach at sunset. The evening includes a lei greeting, a signature welcome beverage, live Hawaiian music, a private hula performance and a chef-curated three-course island-inspired dinner. Available Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; reservations required. Pricing is $1,800 for two guests.

MOKE Island Tour Experience

Explore Oʻahu in a MOKE, a modern open-air electric vehicle that offers a distinctive way to discover areas beyond Waikīkī. The hotel’s fleet provides a relaxed, scenic option for small-group island tours and personalized sightseeing.

Restore Oʻahu’s Largest Waterway

In partnership with the Genki Ala Wai Project, guests can take part in a stewardship experience focused on revitalizing the Ala Wai Canal. Participants learn the canal’s history, create genki balls infused with Effective Microorganisms, and deploy them to support water-quality improvement. The two-hour, community-centered activity is held on the 15th of each month and requires advance reservation. All proceeds support the project’s restoration efforts. Pricing is $250 per guest.
