The 152-year-old Hotel de la Paix has reopened as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva, following a multimillion-dollar renovation. Perched on the shore of Lake Geneva, the hotel offers sweeping views of the Jet d’Eau and Mont Blanc and has long hosted important events and distinguished guests.
The renovation carefully preserves the hotel’s historic character while introducing contemporary design and enhanced functionality. Public spaces were redesigned around themes of art, time and nature, celebrating the destination’s cultural context. The property now comprises 74 guestrooms and 14 suites, all updated with modern finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows that maximize natural light and lake views. The presidential suite, named in honor of frequent guest Grace Kelly, showcases an Art Deco aesthetic with refined gold leaf detail.
Dining options on-site provide a range of culinary experiences. Fiskebar presents a Nordic-fusion menu, while the Living Room Bar & Kitchen serves all-day fare with regional specialties. Guests can also enjoy handcrafted chocolates from the Philippe Pascoët boutique, featuring confections by the renowned chocolatier.
“It is an honor to bring The Ritz-Carlton experience to Switzerland, here with an iconic luxury hotel that has borne witness to a multitude of historic world events,” said Jenni Benzaquen, vice president, luxury brands, Europe, Marriott International. “The Ritz-Carlton is proud to embark on a new chapter in Geneva, infusing the brand’s legendary service standards into this beautifully renovated hotel.”

The resort’s program of amenities focuses on authentic experiences and family-friendly services. Guided jungle walks and night market tours showcase the island’s natural and cultural attractions. Dining is distributed across four distinct venues, offering a variety of culinary styles. Families can take advantage of the Ritz Kids program, while adults will find extensive health and fitness facilities and a full-service Ritz-Carlton Spa for relaxation and wellness.
