The new Star Alliance lounge at São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) has officially opened. Spanning more than 14,500 square feet, the lounge can accommodate up to 295 guests and is located in Terminal 3 on the mezzanine level, overlooking the atrium and airport concourse. It is open daily from 12:00 PM to 3:00 AM for passengers traveling on Star Alliance member airlines in first or business class, as well as for travelers holding Star Alliance Gold status.
Design and finishes blend local Brazilian character with international branding. The interior uses wood, rope, natural fibers and ceramic elements, while furniture pieces were handcrafted by prominent Brazilian designers working with native materials. The result is a warm, contemporary space that reflects local craftsmanship within the alliance’s global aesthetic.
Guest amenities focus on comfort and connectivity. Complimentary Wi‑Fi is provided throughout the lounge, and convenient power and USB outlets are available at seating areas. A dedicated business center supports travelers who need workspace, and four fully equipped shower suites offer refreshed options beyond the standard restroom facilities.
Seating zones are arranged to suit different travel needs, from quiet corners for relaxation to communal areas for dining and socializing. Food and beverage offerings are designed to complement the regional focus of the decor, featuring a selection of light dishes and refreshments appropriate for a broad range of tastes and travel schedules. Staffed service points help ensure timely replenishment and attentive assistance.
Accessibility and guest flow were considered in the lounge layout, with clear sightlines to the terminal and convenient access to the boarding gates. The mezzanine location provides a calm retreat above the busy concourse while keeping travelers well connected to airport services and flight information.
Overall, the new Star Alliance lounge at GRU aims to deliver a comfortable, functional and distinctly Brazilian experience for eligible passengers, combining practical amenities with locally inspired design and handcrafted furnishings.
