After more than 20 hours across multiple flights and long waits at airport gates for delayed connections, my skin bore the toll of recycled cabin air. By the time I arrived in Macao, I felt ten years older: dull, dehydrated skin and sleep-deprived eyes shadowed by heavy bags.
Although I was in Macao for work, I reserved time for a restorative facial at Le SPA’tique at The Parisian Macao, located along Macao’s concentrated strip of casino resorts beneath a half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower. The resort, opened in 2016 as part of the Sands Resorts Macao group, earned recognition in 2017 as Luxury Emerging Spa, Country Category, at the World Luxury Spa Awards.
Inspired by La Belle Époque of 19th-century Paris, Le SPA’tique blends royal purples and gold with modern Chinese accents like antique copper, creating a calming and elegant atmosphere that immediately helped me unwind after long-haul travel.

The spa offers 12 treatment rooms—four double and eight single—along with a full-service hair salon and two manicure/pedicure chairs that include a massage during treatments. Retail shelving features Paul Mitchell and John Masters Organics haircare, alongside O.P.I. and Margaret Dabbs nail products.
Before treatments, guests can enjoy the Vitality Lounge, which includes a sauna, steam room, vitality pool, relaxation lounges and experience showers. The showers are a highlight, cycling through four modes—such as Tropical Rain and Caribbean Storm—with immersive sound effects that enhance the experience.
I opted for the Spiruline Boost Brightening Facial, a 60-minute revitalizing treatment designed to restore radiance to dull, tired skin. The facial uses Thalgo skincare, a brand with roots in marine research and formulations composed largely of algae in various forms—oils, powders and extracts—along with seawater and maritime plants like samphire. Active marine ingredients range from marine calcium to marine silicon and zinc.
Thalgo’s approach emphasizes dermal regeneration and skin firming, using marine serums and concentrates to smooth lines and restore brightness.
My treatment began with a thorough cleanse and exfoliation, followed by acupressure and a facial modelling massage using Thalgo’s Oligo-Marine Modelling Cream to lift and stimulate circulation. A detoxifying smoothing mask helped clear congested pores, while anti-fatigue eye care and an energizing gel cream revived tired-looking skin. When I left the treatment room, my complexion was noticeably refreshed and glowing.
For a longer indulgence, Le SPA’tique offers a 2.5-hour Ritual Detox, which includes a 30-minute body polish, a 60-minute deep tissue massage and a 60-minute facial. The ritual begins with full-body exfoliation to prepare the skin, followed by a deep tissue massage using an antioxidant-rich oil, and finishes with a thorough facial cleanse that removes impurities and leaves skin clear and renewed.

The Zents Body Polish used in some treatments contains organic shea butter to support elasticity and protect against environmental damage. Fine sugar and salt granules gently exfoliate dead skin while boosting circulation; sugar acts as a natural humectant to retain moisture, and coconut oil provides lightweight, effective hydration.
Massage treatments at Le SPA’tique blend Swedish techniques with acupressure to relieve tension, while the Purete Marine Purifying Facial incorporates energizing acupressure and an Oligo-Marine mask to draw out toxins and impurities for a clearer complexion.
Other signature offerings include the 90-minute Le SPA’tique Aroma-sence, which fuses Asian and European massage methods—long Balinese-style strokes to encourage energy flow and circulation alongside deeper work for sore muscles. The two-hour Ritual Vitalite pairs a 90-minute lime and oolong tea oil massage to invigorate the body with a 30-minute refreshing facial.
Based on my hour-long facial, the extended rituals and varied spa treatments provide an ideal prelude to Macao’s upscale entertainment and dining. Whether you need a quick revival after travel or several hours of pampering, Le SPA’tique offers thoughtful, results-driven services in a tranquil setting.
