The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing welcomes four visiting masters this year, giving guests the opportunity to experience exceptional and innovative wellness treatments guided by leading experts.
“Many of the solutions we look for in modern life — whether quick wellness boosts or greater emotional balance — are rooted in practices developed centuries ago,” said Julia Li, spa director, Four Seasons Hotel Beijing. “Our 2019 Visiting Masters Program distills these time-honored techniques into accessible treatments that address contemporary needs.”
From now through 2019, every Tuesday guests can book The Royal Treatment with Zhang Hong Guo, which draws on traditional Chinese methods used by imperial physicians of the Qing Dynasty. The Royal Treatment is a multi-step offering that includes a meridian alignment to promote inner balance and activate self-healing, external Chinese physical therapies such as acupuncture, moxibustion, scraping and cupping, and a specialized bonesetting massage. Each component is available and priced separately, allowing guests to choose the combination that best suits their needs.
From May 3 to 12, osteopathic specialist Louis Adrien Ollu is on-site to provide a range of treatments that combine osteopathy, traditional Chinese medicine and allergy desensitization. Ollu’s signature approach, osteopathic desengrammation, is a form of cranial osteopathy that addresses energetic imbalances and is applied to a wide variety of concerns, from skin conditions and allergies to fertility and hormonal irregularities.
From June 7 to 16, Ryoma Ochiai offers four distinctive therapies informed by his extensive experience using massage as a way to connect with and support clients through significant life transitions. His options include a therapeutic muscle realignment massage to correct postural tensions; a bespoke Asian bodywork session aimed at releasing energy blockages; traditional Thai massage focusing on pressure and assisted stretching for full-body relief; and a full-body stretch treatment that targets multiple stretch points together to enhance flexibility and mobility.
