Qatar Unveils New National Service for Residents and Visitors

Qatar Airways has expanded its network in Saudi Arabia by launching regular service between Doha (DOH) and Ta’if (TIF), marking its sixth destination in the kingdom. The new route is served four times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft. Each aircraft offers seatback entertainment, with more than 800 options available to passengers in all 12 business class seats and 132 economy seats. With Ta’if added to its schedule, Qatar Airways now operates 69 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia.

Fathi Al Shehab, Senior Vice President at Qatar Airways, commented on the launch: “We are pleased to add Ta’if to our growing international network and to provide services to the people of this city and its surrounding areas. Qatar Airways will continue exploring new opportunities in Saudi Arabia and introducing services that will support the country’s tourism sector.” He highlighted Ta’if’s importance as a tourist and cultural center rich in heritage, historic sites and business potential, expressing confidence that the route will attract both leisure and business travelers and help them benefit from what the city has to offer.

Qatar Airways currently operates a fleet of 129 aircraft serving 132 destinations worldwide. The carrier has announced further network growth with planned launches including Clark International Airport (CRK) in the Philippines on October 27 and flights to Philadelphia (PHL) beginning April 2, 2014.
