China Airlines’ new 777-300ER has drawn widespread attention from international juries and travelers since the airline took delivery of its first Boeing aircraft in October 2014.
Lauded with awards at home and abroad, the 777 NexGen cabin blends Oriental aesthetics with advanced technology and environmental sensibilities. Its thoughtful design balances form and function, offering passengers a refined, comfortable experience while reflecting Taiwan’s cultural identity.
As China Airlines Chairman Huang-hsiang Sun noted, the 777-300ER NexGen is “an extension of Taiwan’s cultural diplomacy.” As a leading Taiwanese aviation brand, China Airlines aims to weave cultural creativity and everyday aesthetics into its products and share the beauty of Taiwanese design across its global network.
Lead designer Ray Chen and his international team reinterpreted classic design principles through a Taiwanese perspective, creating an interior that embodies the airline’s evolving brand and promotes Taiwan’s design sensibility worldwide.
Distinctive features set the 777-300ER cabin apart: it was the first in aviation to introduce an interior finish with a persimmon wood-grain effect, complemented by dark-blue cloud motifs and subtle gold accents. These elements together create a warm, elegant atmosphere that feels both modern and rooted in regional tradition.
China Airlines currently operates its 777-300ER NexGen on routes including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Frankfurt and Shanghai, where passengers can experience the cabin’s refined materials, thoughtful layout and improved in-flight amenities.
