After a five-month renovation, Plaza Premium Lounge has reopened its flagship International Departures Lounge at Vancouver International Airport. Centrally positioned in the International Departures Hall, the 6,700-square-foot facility is the largest pay-per-use lounge in Canada and offers a refreshed experience for travellers seeking comfort and convenience before their flights.
The redesign, led by Hong Kong-based Kinney Chan of Kinney Chan & Associates, divides the lounge into distinct zones to accommodate a variety of passenger needs. Seating options include plush sofa chairs for relaxation, communal tables for groups or light work, and dedicated computer workstations. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the lounge to support both business and leisure travellers.
To enhance passenger comfort, the lounge includes two private shower rooms and three nap rooms, allowing guests to refresh or rest before departures. Dining choices are varied and focused on healthier selections: a salad bar, a buffet area with a range of nutritious options, and a noodle bar serving Hong Kong-style fish ball noodle soup, providing both familiar and regional flavours.
“For today’s discerning passengers, their trip begins at the airport, and we know our customers are going to appreciate the premium amenities offered by the beautifully updated Plaza Premium Lounge,” said Tony Gugliotta, senior vice president of marketing and business development at Plaza Premium Lounge Management Ltd.
The renovated lounge aims to meet the needs of modern travellers by combining functional workspaces, restful areas, and diverse dining options in a single, accessible location. Its central placement in the departures hall makes it convenient for international passengers to pause and prepare for their journeys, whether they need to catch up on work, freshen up after a long trip, or enjoy a quiet meal before boarding.
The lounge’s flexible layout supports both solo travellers and groups, while the mix of amenities reflects growing demand for comfortable, versatile airport spaces. With an emphasis on wellness and practical convenience, the refreshed Plaza Premium Lounge at Vancouver International Airport positions itself as a standout choice among pay-per-use lounges in Canada.
