Explore 76 Main Ink Press Hotel and 21 Broad Hotel, two sister boutique properties nestled in the heart of historic downtown Nantucket. Situated just two blocks from the ferries, both inns place guests amid cobblestone streets, locally owned shops, acclaimed restaurants and renowned attractions such as the Whaling Museum. Their intimate scale and downtown locations make them ideal bases for discovering the island’s pre-season calm and character.

The quieter, reimagined former sea captain’s home at 76 Main Ink Press Hotel has 21 rooms that emphasize contemporary coastal design and serene courtyard suites. By contrast, 21 Broad Hotel offers a livelier, more playful energy across 27 rooms and suites in the center of town. Adjacent to 21 Broad, the historic Swain House—newly renovated and thoughtfully designed—adds six additional rooms for guests seeking a more secluded stay.

May and June are especially magical for nature lovers and photographers as Nantucket’s daffodils and seasonal blooms transform the island into a vivid display of color. Quiet streets and early-season light create ideal conditions for walking tours, seaside photography and exploring the island’s natural beauty.

At 76 Main, one suite pays tribute to Elin Hilderbrand, the bestselling author whose novels have introduced readers worldwide to Nantucket’s allure. With the Netflix adaptation of The Perfect Couple increasing interest in the island, Hilderbrand’s stories continue to shape how many visitors imagine Nantucket.

Hotel owner Bruce Percelay—publisher of Nantucket Magazine, a real estate developer and chair of the board of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate—personally shaped the vision for 76 Main Ink Press Hotel. The property honors Nantucket’s journalistic and literary heritage, with design touches that reflect the island’s storytelling traditions.

The hotel’s interiors showcase vintage typewriters, press cameras and rooms dedicated to prominent writers, including Hilderbrand and Nathaniel Philbrick, creating an immersive experience that connects guests to the island’s literary and historical roots.

Both properties open for the season in late April, coinciding with Daffodil Festival week, and remain welcoming through the busy summer and fall months before closing for the season after the Christmas Stroll weekend in early December.
