Once a favored retreat for influential figures and cultural icons like J.P. Morgan, Edsel Ford, Harold S. Vanderbilt and aviator Charles Lindbergh, the historic Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina remains a premier address for relaxed summer getaways. The resort’s collaborations with Sisley Paris and Wölffer Estate bring a carefully curated program of live music, harbor cruises and yoga sessions that enhance the seasonal offerings.

Set on Lake Montauk at the tip of Long Island’s South Fork in New York, the Club is managed by Proper Hospitality and opened its 2024 season with a newly designed suite and an expanded program of activities. The new accommodation, crafted by designer Billy Cotton, pairs an emerald green and white palette with dark wood accents and checkerboard tile details for a modern, coastal feel.
Occupying 16 waterfront acres on Star Island, the resort—founded in 1928—features the largest marina in the Hamptons and a wide range of water-based amenities. Guests can enjoy a house fleet of electric X Shore boats, two outdoor waterfront pools and a private beach with paddleboard access, all designed to make the most of the coastal setting.

Through September 1, guests can reserve wellness treatments at Cabana & Spa by Sisley Paris, available Monday through Thursday. The spa menu focuses on relaxing and restorative rituals, including the hour-long Indulgent Black Rose facial and the Zen Body Wrap—offered in 70- or 90-minute sessions—a full-body exfoliation followed by a botanical-infused hydrating mask. Guests may enhance treatments with add-ons such as heated SmartGoggles for eyes and temples, scalp massage, reflexology and Theragun percussion therapy for targeted muscle relief.
The resort’s social calendar features nightly live performances by local and national musicians, creating a lively backdrop for dining and relaxation. The Galley serves casual summer fare—think crispy smash burgers and chilled lobster rolls created by Chef Jarad McCarroll—which can be enjoyed dockside or from a nearby hammock for a quintessentially easygoing Montauk experience.
