Packed with art, shopping and history, the city offers plenty to fill your time, whether you’re hunting for a designer purchase or exploring Italy’s great attractions after a busy day of meetings.
GETTING THERE
Milan’s central location makes travel to and from the city straightforward. Milan Malpensa Airport, about 28 miles from the city center, is roughly an hour’s drive from the main districts. Regular shuttle buses take around 50 minutes and depart frequently; the express train reaches Cadorna Station in about 30 minutes. Taxis are convenient but can be expensive for the one-way trip.
GETTING AROUND
Central Milan is compact and well suited for walking and cycling. The city’s bike-share program offers short-term subscriptions for visitors, and the pedestrian-friendly streets make cycling a pleasant option. Four metro lines run roughly from 6 a.m. until midnight, operated by the local transit authority, and ticket bundles or day passes provide value for multiple trips.
