André Gerondeau, COO of Meliá Hotels International, described 2026 as a pivotal year: “2026 represents the next chapter in our journey to redefine luxury and lifestyle travel. Each new property is not just a hotel, but a gateway to authentic cultural discovery, personal transformation, and unforgettable experiences. Spanish hospitality is the soul of our brand, and as we continue to grow, be it through strategic new openings or extensive refurbishments, we remain dedicated to sharing it with the world in the most responsible and inspiring ways.”
Beyond new openings, Meliá plans renovations and enhanced programming at selected existing hotels to elevate guest experiences and align properties with evolving traveler expectations. Looking further ahead, the company has projected the 2028 debut of Terrazas del Guitérrez in Patagonia, signaling continued investment in unique and sustainable destinations.
With this wave of openings and upgrades, Meliá aims to balance international expansion with the refined hospitality that defines its brand—bringing Spanish warmth, local cultural engagement and new wellness-focused offerings to guests around the world.
