Massachusetts Braces for a Packed Pride Events Season

With spring approaching, communities across Massachusetts are preparing for a lively season of Pride celebrations.

On May 11, Boston Youth Pride returns as a one-day festival focused on celebrating LGBTQ+ youth. The event brings together young people for performances, community-building activities and workshops, and concludes with the annual BAGLY Prom.

Boston Pride Week runs May 31 through June 9 and offers ten days of events that culminate in a festive parade. The schedule typically includes a kick-off party, nightclub gatherings, educational and human rights discussions, and a neighborhood block party that welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds.

North Shore Pride, following a successful debut last year, holds its second annual festival in Salem, Massachusetts on June 9. This day-long celebration features live entertainment from dancers, singers and bands, as well as a community parade that highlights local LGBTQ+ culture and allies.

In August, Provincetown hosts two signature gatherings. From August 3–10, Family Pride Week brings together LGBTQ+ parents, their children, extended families, prospective parents and friends for a week of family-oriented events and support. Later in the month, Provincetown’s 35th annual Carnival runs August 18–24 with a Viva! Las Vegas theme—featuring costume contests, boat cruises, pool parties and a traditional clambake that draw visitors from across the region.
