Mandarin Oriental to Open Luxury Resort in Marrakech in 2026

French designers Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier collaborated to bring refined elegance to the Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech in Morocco. Combining Boissier’s expertise in Berber and Andalusian-inspired motifs with Gilles’ sense of clean symmetry, the design emphasizes authentic regional patterns and thoughtful detailing throughout the property. Suites and villas are appointed for both luxury and comfort, featuring private, walled gardens with amenities such as heated pools, hot tubs and open-air showers. Seven select suites also offer rooftop plunge pools for an elevated private experience.

Local Berber influences and displays of Moroccan arts and crafts are woven into the décor of the hotel’s five restaurants and bars, creating a cohesive cultural atmosphere across dining and leisure spaces. The spa takes visual cues from Andalusian cathedral architecture, delivering a serene backdrop for treatments. Spa therapies are available in treatment rooms shaded by olive trees or in one of two private Infinity Suites, each with its own private pool and hammam; the program focuses on holistic therapies rooted in Moroccan tradition.

Beyond the property’s tranquil interiors and private outdoor retreats, guests can explore the surrounding landscape by bicycle or arrange tee times at nearby golf courses such as Al Maaden and Royal Golf clubs. Whether seeking restorative spa rituals, immersive cultural design, or outdoor recreation, the Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech blends local craftsmanship with contemporary luxury to create a memorable stay.
