Major Updates Coming to Barrière Group’s Luxury Hotels and Resorts

For the first time since it opened in 1912, the Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville has temporarily closed its doors for a major renovation. The project aims to preserve the hotel’s historic character while introducing a fresh, contemporary interpretation of classic style. French designer Nathalie Ryan is overseeing the interiors, which will blend traditional elements with modern comforts. Guest rooms will feature an updated version of the famous Toile de Jouy pattern originally created by Claude Lelouch in 1966.

Later this year, the Barrière Group will expand its portfolio with a new hotel in Courchevel, at the base of the Bellecôte ski slope in the French Alps. Scheduled to open in December, the seven-floor luxury hotel will be the group’s first mountain property. It will offer 42 rooms, also designed by Nathalie Ryan, using a palette of natural materials such as wood and stone and colors inspired by local sunrises and sunsets. Facilities will include three restaurants, a private theater, a ski lounge and a 10,000-square-foot Spa Diane Barrière, creating a full-service alpine retreat.
