Luxury Hotel Collection Launches in Armenia: Where to Stay in 2026

The Luxury Collection made its debut in Armenia last week with the opening of The Alexander, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Yerevan. This property is Armenia’s first internationally branded luxury hotel, marking a significant milestone for the country’s hospitality sector.

“Armenia is a destination with a deeply rooted history and rich culture, which has until now remained a mostly unchartered destination for our global travelers,” said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection. “The Alexander will allow our guests to connect with the fascinating capital city of Yerevan, marked by grand Soviet-era architecture and historic landmarks such as the Matenadaran library, and truly engage in the authentic traditions of Armenia.”

Located only steps from Republic Square and several historic landmarks, The Alexander places guests in the heart of Yerevan. The hotel features 114 guestrooms and suites, many of which include private balconies and are designed to blend Armenian heritage with contemporary style. The presidential suite occupies a private floor and spans approximately 1,700 square feet. Guests also have access to a spa, a fitness center, a salon and Yerevan’s first indoor pool.

Culinary offerings at the hotel are led by Italiano Ristorante on the top floor, which serves modern Italian cuisine alongside curated cocktails and a selection of local wines. The Keys Aficionado’s Private Club serves as a refined bar and wine cellar, while two additional outlets provide light bites, tea, coffee and pastries for more casual dining moments.

“Shaped by rich traditions, coveted treasures and a storied history, the city of Yerevan truly encapsulates the spirit of The Luxury Collection,” said Jenni Benzaquen, vice president of luxury brands, Europe, Marriott International. “The Alexander will provide sophisticated, independently-minded global explorers and locals alike with an unparalleled level of luxury in this fascinating destination. The unique destination experiences offered by The Luxury Collection, combined with Armenian hospitality, is also the perfect way to introduce our luxury portfolio to the region.”

The hotel’s central location, thoughtful design and upscale amenities position it as a new landmark for travelers seeking authentic experiences in Armenia’s capital. By combining local cultural references with international standards of service, The Alexander aims to cater both to international visitors and residents of Yerevan looking for a premium hospitality offering.
