LOT Polish Airlines is preparing a significant expansion now that its restructuring plan has concluded. The carrier plans to increase frequencies to North America and add several new long-haul and regional routes.
For the next winter season, LOT will expand its U.S. footprint with additional flights to New York (JFK) and Chicago (ORD). The airline will also introduce new long-haul services to Bangkok (BKK), Seoul (ICN) and Tokyo (NRT), strengthening connections between Poland, Central and Eastern Europe, and key destinations in Asia and North America.
“Opening new long-haul destinations is essential for our growth, so we are launching them as quickly as possible. Today, routes operated by our Dreamliner fleet are the most profitable segment of the business. LOT is unique in offering frequent, convenient services from Poland and New Europe to New York, Chicago, Toronto and Beijing. We are adding three new connections to the current four, and we may introduce two more in the autumn. After opening five new destinations next year, LOT will more than double its existing long-haul network,” said Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
Alongside the long-haul expansion, LOT will add three European destinations—Venice (VCE), Cluj-Napoca (CLJ) and Ljubljana (LJU)—and will reinstate routes that were suspended during the restructuring process. These regional additions will complement the airline’s global growth strategy and improve connectivity across its network.
LOT has confirmed it can operate the initial phase of this development plan using its current fleet, allowing the airline to expand capacity and frequencies without immediate additional aircraft deliveries. This approach supports steady network growth while optimizing the utilization of existing resources.
Overall, the planned expansions reflect LOT’s focus on strengthening transatlantic and Asian links, restoring regional services, and leveraging its Dreamliner operations to drive profitable long-haul growth. Passengers can expect more options and increased frequencies between Poland, New Europe, North America and Asia as the airline rolls out the next phase of its network.
