LOT Polish Airlines and Frankfurt Airport marked the 50th anniversary of the carrier’s inaugural flight from Warsaw International Airport this month. Since the route began on September 7, 1965, Frankfurt has become one of the most important destinations in LOT’s network.
Today LOT operates the Warsaw–Frankfurt route three times daily. The service originally used Ilyushin Il-18 aircraft; currently the flights are operated with Embraer 170, 175 and 195 aircraft. The cabins are arranged in three travel classes — LOT Business, LOT Premium Economy and LOT Economy — to meet the needs of both leisure and business travelers.
The typical daily schedule between Warsaw and Frankfurt offers departures from Warsaw at 7:45 a.m., 5:05 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., while flights from Frankfurt depart at 7:30 a.m., 10:35 a.m. and 7:50 p.m. This frequency provides convenient connections for passengers traveling to and from the German financial center throughout the day.
Over five decades the route has seen significant changes in aircraft technology and passenger services, reflecting LOT’s broader modernization and commitment to improving the travel experience. The continued operation of multiple daily flights underscores the strong business and cultural ties between Warsaw and Frankfurt, and the route remains a key link for both cities.
