LATAM Airlines Adds New International Routes and Destinations

LATAM Airlines has announced three new international routes for 2018, expanding its long-haul network with direct connections between São Paulo (GRU) and Boston (BOS), Rome (CIA) and Lisbon (LIS).

Boston becomes LATAM’s sixth destination in the United States, further strengthening air links between New England and South America.

“The start of the direct route to São Paulo not only continues to demonstrate our commitment to strengthening the network between the United States and South America, but reinforces our position as the leading carrier within the region,” said Pablo Chiozza, senior vice president of North America, the Caribbean and Asia for LATAM Airlines Group.

Thomas P. Glynn, CEO of the Massachusetts Port Authority, welcomed the service, noting that connecting New England with major global economies is central to Massport’s mission. “Offering non-stop service to Brazil, one of the world’s largest economies, has been a target of ours for some time,” he said.

Flights are scheduled to commence in mid-2018. Service from São Paulo to Rome will begin on March 16, and tickets for that route are already available for purchase. Rome becomes the second Italian city served by LATAM, joining Milan (MXP) on the carrier’s European network.

These additions aim to improve connectivity between Brazil and key markets in North America and Europe, supporting both business and leisure travel while reinforcing LATAM’s role as a major regional and international operator.
