JetBlue Reveals New Boston Bruins-Themed Plane Livery

JetBlue has introduced a new livery that pays tribute to the Boston Bruins. The airline’s Airbus A320, christened Bear Force One, displays the team’s distinctive black and gold colors across the fuselage and tail.

This marks JetBlue’s first livery dedicated to an NHL team and the third aircraft livery honoring a Boston sports franchise. The plane’s tail features the Bruins’ spoked-B logo, while the phrase “Boston’s Team since 1924” is prominently placed near the boarding door, offering a clear nod to the club’s long history.

As the dominant carrier serving Boston, JetBlue’s introduction of this special design underscores the airline’s local presence and connection to the city’s sports culture. The new livery is intended to celebrate the existing partnership between the airline and the Bruins, and to create a visible symbol of that relationship which will travel across the carrier’s network.

“We couldn’t think of a better time to celebrate our six-year partnership with the Boston Bruins,” said Marty St. George, JetBlue’s chief commercial officer. He noted that the aircraft will allow Bruins fans to display team pride while the club competes in the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond. With JetBlue flying to more than 100 destinations, the Bear Force One livery will be seen nationwide, offering fans opportunities to spot and photograph the jet and to connect with the team’s colors during travel.

Cam Neely, president of the Boston Bruins, emphasized the strength of the partnership between the two organizations. “For the past six years, the Bruins and JetBlue have had a very strong relationship,” Neely said. He described JetBlue as a valuable partner and expressed enthusiasm about seeing one of the airline’s aircraft carry the Black and Gold as it moves around the country.

The unveiling of Bear Force One also highlights how airlines and sports franchises collaborate to extend team branding beyond stadiums. Special liveries serve both as a marketing tool and as a fan engagement tactic, drawing attention at airports and on social media as supporters share images and stories. In this case, the JetBlue livery is designed to be a moving billboard for the Bruins, reinforcing local pride and offering a shared symbol for travelers who follow the team.

Beyond aesthetics, these team liveries often reflect a deeper commitment to local markets. JetBlue’s decision to dedicate an aircraft to the Bruins builds on previous tributes to Boston teams and demonstrates the carrier’s continued investment in the New England region. For passengers, seeing the Bear Force One at a gate or in the skies can create a sense of community connection, especially for those traveling to and from Boston for games or other events.

JetBlue’s Bear Force One joins a growing list of airlines that have partnered with professional sports teams to create unique, commemorative liveries. While each program varies in scope and duration, they commonly serve to strengthen brand alignment between the airline and the team while generating excitement among fans. For the Bruins and their supporters, having a dedicated JetBlue aircraft provides another way to celebrate the team’s heritage and achievements.

As the Bear Force One begins its scheduled flights within JetBlue’s route network, fans and travelers alike can look forward to spotting the bold black-and-gold design. Whether it appears at Logan International Airport or at destinations across the country, the plane is intended to be a visible reminder of the partnership and the shared enthusiasm for Boston hockey.
