JetBlue is expanding and adding new service on the West Coast. Travelers can now book nonstop flights between Long Beach (LGB) and San Jose (SJC), and JetBlue is increasing frequency on routes from Long Beach to Las Vegas (LAS), San Francisco (SFO) and Salt Lake City (SLC). JetBlue remains the largest carrier at Long Beach Airport, operating 35 daily departures.
“We want to give our customers in Long Beach even more JetBlue love by offering our award-winning service on more routes to more destinations throughout the west. Since landing in Long Beach in 2001, our customers have come to expect nothing but the best when they fly and we can’t wait to welcome them aboard these new flights,” said Dave Clark, vice president of network planning for JetBlue.
The new Long Beach–San Jose service begins January 4, 2017, with four daily round trips. Departures from Long Beach are scheduled at 7:00 a.m., 11:04 a.m., 4:40 p.m. and 7:48 p.m., providing convenient morning, midday and evening options for business and leisure travelers.
“JetBlue has successfully serviced Mineta San Jose International Airport since 2004 with nonstop service to Boston and New York, and I am delighted to see our airline partner expand its presence in Silicon Valley by offering nonstop service to Southern California via Long Beach. JetBlue’s growth in San Jose is an indication of the continued demand by residents and businesses seeking competitive fares, convenience and a world-class travel experience,” said Sam Liccardo, mayor of San Jose.
In addition to the new San Jose flights, JetBlue will add three daily departures from Long Beach to Las Vegas, one additional daily round trip to San Francisco, and one additional daily round trip to Salt Lake City beginning in November. All flights will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft, offering JetBlue’s onboard amenities and service standards.
These schedule enhancements strengthen JetBlue’s footprint across the West Coast and provide more nonstop options for travelers flying to and from Long Beach, a convenient alternative to the region’s larger airports. With increased frequency and a new Long Beach–San Jose link, passengers gain greater flexibility and more choices for direct travel within the western United States.
