InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the upcoming InterContinental Yao Yai Resort, set to open in early 2020. This luxury property, featuring 170 guestrooms, sits on Koh Yao Yai—the largest island in Phang Nga Bay—strategically positioned between Thailand’s mainland and Phuket. The resort is conveniently located about 30 minutes from both Phuket and Krabi airports.
Guestrooms with ocean views are organized in family-friendly sections and offer features such as expansive vistas and private plunge pools. In addition to standard rooms, the resort will include exclusive tropical villas: 18 lagoon- and creek-front villas and 10 beachfront villas, designed to provide privacy and direct access to the island’s natural surroundings.

Resort amenities will include three restaurants and bars, a fitness center, a swimming pool and a full-service spa. A dedicated water facilities center will handle transfers and island excursions. For corporate and social events, the resort will offer meeting and wedding venues as well as access to a private sandbank that can be used for gatherings during low tide.
