Iberia has unveiled an expanded and upgraded premium lounge at Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD). The existing facility in Terminal 4 Satellite has grown by 25 percent to nearly 27,000 square feet, redesigned to meet the needs of frequent travelers and elevate the pre-flight experience.
Positioned to overlook the runways, the updated lounge can accommodate up to 500 guests. The space emphasizes comfort and connectivity, offering unlimited WiFi, ergonomic seating with integrated USB charging ports, and larger dining areas. Travelers can relax in a dedicated rest zone equipped with spacious showers, while wine enthusiasts can enjoy a Vinothèque featuring 22 selections of Spanish regional wines.
Dining has been prioritized throughout the redesign. Guests have access to a broad selection of hot and cold self-service items, complemented by a sit-down restaurant serving both Spanish specialties and international dishes. The layout and service are intended to make meals convenient and enjoyable, whether guests prefer a quick bite or a more leisurely dining experience.
“To rest, to work, to enjoy a refreshment, or to wait calmly for your flight now has a new meaning; we have improved every aspect, with particular focus on connectivity and food service, to deliver an unrivaled customer experience,” said Gabriel Perdiguero, Iberia’s director of customer and business transformation.
Further enhancements are planned in the coming days: touchscreen tablets will be installed in the buffet area to provide up-to-date information about food and beverage options and offer recommendations. Additional coffee and tea stations will also be added to enhance the beverage experience for travelers.
