Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino has completed a major refresh of more than 350 guestrooms and suites, along with a redesigned Regency Club. The property’s 12 acres received a $21 million renovation that blends the island’s Dutch Colonial architectural influences with contemporary comfort and amenities. BLUR Workshop Designs from Kansas City led the redesign.
“Hyatt Regency Aruba consistently raises the bar when it comes to service, experience and amenities in Aruba,” said Carlos Cabrera, general manager and area vice president, Hyatt Regency Aruba. “Our new room product is incomparable to any other resort on the island and will be a welcome enhancement to our valued guests.”
Kelly O’Donnell of BLUR Designs explained the team’s aim to mirror the resort’s natural surroundings in the guest experience. “Looking out through the layers of waterfalls, swaying palm trees and onto the brilliant blue ocean outside of Hyatt Regency Aruba’s property, there is no question that you are at a stunning tropical resort and a sense of calm relaxation takes over,” she said. “We wanted to recreate that same experience as guests travel up to their rooms and open the door. Upon entry, the guests will have that same sense of excitement, relaxation and a sense of place that is distinctly Aruba.”
The updated guestrooms showcase white oak furnishings and abundant natural light to create a warm, airy atmosphere. Design details include hand-woven rugs, oversized chaise lounges, large flat-screen televisions and glass-front mini-fridges. A coastal-inspired palette uses ombré blues alongside neutral tones, complemented by vibrant wall accents that reflect Aruba’s colors and energy.
Bathrooms were upgraded with quartz countertops, white oak vanities and brushed nickel fixtures for a clean, modern finish. The renovation focuses on durable, high-quality materials that balance island style with everyday practicality for travelers.
The Regency Club Lounge has been relocated to the ground level to provide direct, convenient access to the pool, beach and casino. Exclusive to Club Level guests, the lounge offers complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails with hors d’oeuvres, creating a comfortable retreat for relaxation and socializing during the day and into the evening.
Overall, the redesign aims to enhance guest comfort and elevate the resort’s aesthetic while preserving a strong sense of place tied to Aruba’s natural beauty and architectural heritage. The combination of modern fixtures and locally inspired color and texture gives guests a refreshed, relaxed environment that complements the resort’s existing amenities and beachfront location.
