Hilton Hotels has expanded its partnership with Playa Hotels & Resorts, the all-inclusive resort operator, to grow Hilton’s presence in Latin America and the Caribbean.
As part of the agreement, Hilton will assume responsibility for and renovate two Playa-owned resorts, which will be rebadged under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts name. The first property, Hilton La Romana in the Dominican Republic, is scheduled to open at the end of the year. The second, Hilton Playa del Carmen in Mexico, will follow shortly thereafter.
Hilton also plans to develop eight additional all-inclusive resorts over the next six years under this brand, further expanding its global portfolio of resorts. Playa Hotels & Resorts will continue to own and operate the properties while leveraging Hilton’s brand and distribution. Playa’s all-inclusive model typically bundles accommodation, meals and beverages into room rates, and sometimes includes airfare or other travel components.
This expansion supports Hilton’s broader strategy to increase its footprint in the resort and all-inclusive segment, particularly across high-demand destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. The move is expected to bring refreshed facilities and service standards consistent with Hilton’s global brand, while offering guests the convenience and value of the all-inclusive format.
