Have you ever wanted to step into a living time capsule? The Hessenpark Open Air Museum, situated in the Taunus Mountains of Hesse, offers exactly that experience. Guided, themed tours are offered with costumed guides who provide knowledgeable commentary and help bridge the gap between contemporary life and the museum’s historical settings. The grounds also include an orchard preserving an old strain of apple trees and the Ark Park, a farm dedicated to rare heritage breeds such as Vorwerk chickens, Rhön sheep and historic pig varieties.
