Hawaiian Airlines has announced a new nonstop route connecting Honolulu (HNL) and Boston (BOS). Service begins April 4, 2019, with flights operating five days a week.
“There is nowhere on Earth like Hawai’i, and we are bringing our islands closer than ever to Boston with non-stop service,” said Peter Ingram, CEO and president of Hawaiian Airlines. “As an airline deeply rooted in Hawai’i for nearly a century, every route we operate starts or ends in the Aloha State. We look forward to welcoming New England travelers aboard and sharing our warm hospitality from the moment they check in and step on board.”
The outbound flight departs Honolulu every day except Tuesday and Wednesday at 1:45 p.m., arriving in Boston the next morning at approximately 6:00 a.m. The return flight departs Boston every day except Wednesday and Thursday at 8:55 a.m., with an earlier departure at 8:00 a.m. on Fridays. Flights arrive back in Hawai’i the same day, generally at 2:35 p.m., and at 1:40 p.m. on Fridays.
George Szigeti, president of the Hawai’i Tourism Authority, noted the importance of the new nonstop service for travel to the islands: “Hawaiian Airlines has been an important partner in making a Hawaiian vacation accessible to people from all over the world. The greater Boston market currently brings about 60,000 visitors to the islands each year, and nonstop flights will make it even easier for New England travelers to experience Hawai’i aboard an airline that represents our gracious local hospitality.”
This Honolulu–Boston route is the longest regularly scheduled domestic flight in U.S. history, providing a direct connection between New England and the Hawaiian Islands while reducing travel time and eliminating the need for connections.
Travelers can expect Hawaiian’s signature onboard service and amenities on these long-haul flights, along with scheduling that supports both vacation travel and extended stays in the islands. The nonstop option offers a convenient way for visitors and residents to travel between two distant regions while enjoying direct service from an airline with deep ties to Hawai’i.
