Grand Adirondack Hotel will open in Lake Placid this fall after a careful restoration of the historic property that first welcomed guests in 1927 as the Hotel Marcy. Over the decades the property became a local landmark and hosted notable visitors, including Eleanor Roosevelt and Barbra Streisand.
The 92-room boutique hotel, managed by Wright Investments, is undergoing a comprehensive renovation that updates guestrooms, public spaces and dining areas while preserving the building’s historic character. Positioned on Lake Placid’s lively Main Street, the hotel provides an ideal base for exploring the village and the surrounding Adirondack Park, with easy access to Mirror Lake and nearby outdoor activities.
Wright Investments has focused on creating a welcoming, community-oriented destination. “The hotel has such deep cultural and historic significance, and we are creating a singular experience in the heart of The Adirondacks. The Grand Adirondack Hotel will be the gathering place for everyone that lives in the area, as well as our adventurous guests. What we have envisioned is much more than a hotel, it’s the living room, the heart of Lake Placid and the most exciting place to be in the six million acres of the Park,” said Larry Wright Jr., president and CEO of Wright Investments.
Grand Adirondack Hotel – The Marcy
The hotel will introduce several new food and beverage offerings designed to reflect local flavors and seasonal ingredients. Marcy, a brasserie-style restaurant, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu that emphasizes regional produce and classic preparations. Marcy Bar will feature small plates, craft beers and cocktails and will host live music for a relaxed evening atmosphere. Cloud Splitter, the property’s rooftop bar, will operate seasonally and deliver panoramic views of Mirror Lake and Whiteface Mountain.
As part of Marriott International’s Tribute Portfolio collection, the Grand Adirondack Hotel combines independent character with the resources of a global hospitality brand. The refreshed property aims to honor its history while offering updated accommodations and vibrant gathering spaces that appeal to both locals and visitors seeking a memorable Adirondack experience.
