ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: I arrived in Orlando after the Labor Day weekend to attend Florida’s Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The conference gathers destination marketers across the state to share the latest tourism trends. I drove to the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort and arrived just in time for the conference’s opening night session. Although short on time, the valet team held my car while the front desk completed my check-in and assigned me a Park View Suite on the sixth floor.

GUEST QUARTERS: The suite was one of the most spacious I’ve experienced this year. A guest bathroom with a sink and shower greeted me at the entry, and beyond that the living area felt more like a comfortable apartment than a hotel room. A full sofa, an armchair and a coffee table created a relaxed seating zone. Nearby, a glass dining table with chairs sat beside the minibar, refrigerator and Nespresso machine. The tray of charcuterie, cheeses and desserts was a welcome touch for someone who had been rushing. I also noticed a wine dispenser stocked with Emblem Cabernet Sauvignon and Mohua Sauvignon Blanc.

The bedroom matched the living area in size and refinement. It featured a king bed, two armchairs with lamps, and bedside tables. Two flat-screen TVs were mounted back-to-back on the dividing wall between the living room and bedroom. A walk-through closet with separate his-and-hers storage led to the second bathroom, which includes dual sinks, a full bathtub, a water closet and a glass-enclosed shower. Plush rugs and towels along with Atelier Cologne bath and shower amenities reinforced the suite’s upscale feel.

Extending the length of the suite, an expansive balcony provided an outdoor dining table with seating for four at one end and two lounge chairs at the other. The balcony offered park views of Disney World, including nightly fireworks visible from the resort grounds.

SERVICES/AMENITIES: I didn’t have time to sample the resort’s six dining venues during this stay, but the reputation of the Four Seasons Resort Orlando’s culinary team makes a return visit tempting to explore signature dishes. The resort’s Golf and Sports Club and full-service Spa further suggest this property is ideal for a leisure-oriented stay as well as business travel.

The resort is also family-focused, featuring a five-acre water park with multiple pools, a lazy river, a water slide and other aquatic attractions. Guests can arrange character breakfasts with Goofy and other Disney characters, and the property hosts family-friendly activities throughout the year.

TOP TAKEAWAYS:

  • Guests needing extra living space should consider a suite with a balcony for comfortable indoor-outdoor living.
  • The property suits bleisure travelers: families and partners can enjoy the resort while someone attends conferences or events.
  • Located within the Golden Oak community, the resort is minutes from major theme parks and offers complimentary transportation.
