Pumpkins, apples and turkey take center stage this autumn at the award-winning Milestone Hotel in London. The hotel, the London flagship of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is celebrating the season with a series of seasonal experiences that blend American traditions with British flair. Highlights include a chocolate-themed afternoon tea, a Halloween dinner with theatrical dishes, and a British-style Thanksgiving feast.
Chocolate lovers can enjoy a special chocolate afternoon tea running daily through Oct. 20. Created to mark the trick-or-treating season and National Chocolate Week, the menu features chocolate éclairs, fudgy brownies, chocolate-covered marshmallows and a shot of white and dark chocolate mousse. Guests can also try a chocolate porter supplied by London’s Meantime Brewing Company throughout October. The chocolate afternoon tea is priced from $60 per person.
On Halloween night, the hotel’s five-star restaurant Cheneston’s presents a themed dinner inspired by All Hallows’ Eve. The theatrical menu includes dishes such as “Feast for the Beastly” braised pork belly, “Brutally Bloodied” chestnut velouté, “Headless” roasted guinea fowl and “Beware of the Dark” roasted pumpkin tart. Desserts continue the theme with a “Sorcerer’s Secret” Braeburn apple tart and a “Trick or Treat” blueberry brûlée. The prix-fixe Halloween dinner starts from $49 per person.
For Thanksgiving, Cheneston’s offers a British-American fusion dinner on Nov. 26. The menu features comforting, hearty choices like truffled mac and cheese, barbecued ribs, cornbread with sausage stuffing and locally sourced Norfolk Bronze turkey, finished with classic pumpkin pie. This Thanksgiving feast is priced from $76 per person.
