Explore Antarctica: Aurora Expeditions’ New Arctic & Polar Programs

Aurora Expeditions, a leader in small-ship polar travel, has unveiled its 2024–2025 Antarctic program, offering 25 voyages ranging from nine to 23 days. These itineraries explore the Antarctic Peninsula, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Chilean fjords, providing a variety of options for travelers seeking wildlife, dramatic scenery and immersive polar experiences.

“We just completed a hugely successful 2022–2023 Antarctic season and our 2023–2024 Antarctic season is already selling well with several departures almost at capacity,” said Lisa Bertini, vice president of sales, North America for Aurora Expeditions. “Our 24/25 Antarctic season is looking like our most adventurous yet.”

A highlight of the lineup is a new 20‑day itinerary, In Shackleton’s Footsteps, which retraces the historic voyage of the Endurance. Departing March 16, 2025 and returning April 4, 2025, this voyage crosses the Weddell Sea to visit Elephant Island before continuing across the Scotia Sea to South Georgia, following key locations tied to Sir Ernest Shackleton’s expedition.

For the first time, Aurora Expeditions includes the Chilean fjords on two departures: the 14‑day Antarctic Explorer (March 1–15, 2025) and the 13‑day Spirit of Antarctica (March 13–25, 2025). These sailings combine fjord exploration with classic Antarctic highlights and are designed for travelers who want both scenic cruising and opportunities for onshore exploration.

The Spirit of Antarctica program also returns in 2024 with a dedicated photographic voyage that pairs off-ship exploration with lectures and hands-on instruction from professional photographers, ideal for guests who want to improve their polar photography skills while capturing wildlife and ice-scapes.

Aurora Expeditions is offering an early-bird discount of up to 25 percent on select departures for the 2024–2025 season. Prospective travelers should check availability soon, as many departures are filling quickly.
