EVA Air continues to expand and refine its North American network in 2016, increasing frequencies on existing routes and adding a new destination in the United States. Since operating its first North America flight on December 12, 1992, the continent has remained a key market for the carrier.
Currently operating 65 weekly flights to North America, EVA Air plans to increase that total to 77 by the end of 2016. To support the expanded schedule, the airline is adding seven new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft this year, which will be assigned to both enhanced frequencies and the new route launches.
Following a successful launch earlier this year, EVA has boosted service on the Taipei (TPE)–Houston (IAH) route. Flight frequency has been raised to six weekly departures and is scheduled to move to daily service before the close of 2016. Service between New York (JFK) and Taipei will increase to 10 weekly flights beginning July 7 and is expected to reach two daily departures by year-end. New nonstop service to Chicago (ORD) is planned to begin this fall.
Other North American services include three daily flights to Los Angeles (LAX); 14 weekly flights to San Francisco (SFO); daily service to Seattle (SEA); and five weekly flights each to Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR).
As a member of the Star Alliance, EVA Air operates a fleet of nearly 70 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, serving more than 60 international destinations across Asia, Oceania, Europe and North America. With Taipei as a hub, passengers can connect to a wide range of Asian cities, including 29 destinations within mainland China, via a single stop.
