Etihad has announced further expansion of its destination network with the introduction of new services to Jaipur, India (JAI), and Yerevan, Armenia (EVN). From April 1, the airline will operate daily flights between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Jaipur, increasing Etihad’s Indian network to 10 cities. The airline’s other Indian destinations include Ahmedabad (AMD), Bengaluru (BLR), Chennai (MAA), Hyderabad (HYD), Kochi (COK), Kozhikode (CCJ), Mumbai (BOM), New Delhi (DEL) and Trivandrum (TRV).
In addition, Etihad will begin flying to Yerevan four times a week starting July 2. These route additions reflect the carrier’s ongoing focus on measured network growth to meet rising passenger demand and strengthen regional connectivity.
Etihad transported around 12 million passengers in 2013, an increase of nearly 16% compared with the 10.3 million passengers carried in 2012. James Hogan, President and CEO of Etihad Airways, attributed the strong performance to the airline’s strategic plan, which emphasizes organic network expansion, codeshare partnerships and minority equity investments in other carriers.
These new services aim to offer more travel options for business and leisure passengers, enhancing links between Abu Dhabi and two culturally and economically significant cities in India and the South Caucasus. Daily flights to Jaipur will support tourism and business travel to Rajasthan’s capital, while the Yerevan service will improve access to Armenia’s capital for both inbound and outbound traffic.
With the added frequencies, passengers can expect improved scheduling flexibility and convenient connections through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub. The carrier continues to refine its route network to provide efficient onward connections to its global destinations and to serve growing markets with reliable scheduled services.
