Elmore Court to Open Six Luxury Treehouses in Gloucestershire 2023

Gloucestershire’s award-winning wedding venue Elmore Court is expanding its offering with six unique treehouses set to open in spring 2023. Coinciding with Elmore Court’s 10th anniversary, these sustainably built treehouses give guests the opportunity to extend their visit and stay overnight in the estate’s woodlands, just a short walk from the River Severn.

Visitors who want to experience more of Elmore Court beyond private events will be able to enjoy the local flora and fauna from comfortable, secluded accommodation. The treehouses will operate as a sophisticated self-service holiday rental, separate from the wedding business, and feature their own entrance and driveway for guest privacy and convenience.

Each treehouse offers a private approach via its own boardwalk and a wraparound deck for relaxing and taking in the landscape. The cabins are clad in British cedar with corrugated roofs, and feature cork flooring and poplar ply walls. Practical touches include electric car charging ports for each cabin.

The designs prioritize airtight construction and high levels of insulation. Outdoor facilities include a modern kitchen, a brazier with a wood store, generous decking with seating, and an outdoor bath. Inside, guests will find super-king-sized spindle beds and a fully equipped bathroom with a shower. The interior palette uses natural tones and materials—wood, metal and glass—reflecting a clean Scandinavian design influence.

Each treehouse accommodates up to four guests and supports self-catering via the outdoor kitchen. Elmore Court will offer a selection of pre-orderable food and drink options, such as breakfast hampers, gourmet-ready meals and beverages. One treehouse has been designed without stairs and is wheelchair-accessible to ensure broader accessibility.

The Elmore estate has almost 750 years of history. Current owner Anselm Guise inherited the property in 2007 and aims to balance visitor experiences with wildlife conservation. In line with this approach, the estate has set aside 250 of its 1,000 acres for rewilding to encourage natural habitats. Elsewhere on the grounds, guests can enjoy walled gardens, swim, relax in a sauna and take part in yoga sessions at the nearby Rewild Swim Club.

Reservations for the treehouses are planned to launch in mid-December, offering guests the chance to book a woodland stay at this historic Gloucestershire estate.
