Delta Air Lines is extending its presence beyond airports through a new three-year partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This collaboration builds on Delta’s broader strategy of partnering with colleges to engage students, alumni and campus communities.
Previously, Delta formed alliances with a number of universities nationwide to integrate the airline into campus life, academic activities and recruiting events. Those partnerships are designed to create enduring connections with future travelers by supporting campus programming, career initiatives and alumni relations—not just sports.
UCLA marks Delta’s first West Coast university partner. As part of the agreement, Delta becomes the official airline of UCLA Athletics, the UCLA Alumni Association and the Rose Bowl Stadium. The airline’s campus activation extends from game-day signage and permanent branding at the Rose Bowl to on-campus promotions and events that reach students and alumni.
Delta supported UCLA’s move-in day by hosting Delta Sky360 lounges offering complimentary beverages, snacks, massages and branded giveaways. Going forward, the partnership will include additional promotions, on-campus events and advertising at athletic competitions, including football and basketball games.
“We are excited to partner with Delta as the official airline of UCLA Athletics,” said Josh Rebholz, senior associate athletic director at UCLA. “While Delta is an industry leader and global giant, they’re also very involved in the Los Angeles community. Their support plays an important role in helping our student-athletes as they continuously strive to be champions in competition and in the classroom.”
Delta’s university partnerships span many institutions across the country. Current partners include Boston College, University of Florida, University of Georgia, Georgia Institute of Technology, Indiana University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, University of Notre Dame, The Ohio State University, Penn State University, Syracuse University and University of Wisconsin.
By embedding itself in campus life, Delta aims to build brand familiarity and loyalty among students and alumni, while supporting community-focused initiatives and enhancing the fan experience at collegiate sporting events. The UCLA partnership reinforces the airline’s commitment to local engagement on the West Coast and expands its network of academic and athletic collaborations nationwide.
