Crans-Montana: Summer Music and Art Festivals in the Swiss Alps

The Swiss mountain town of Crans-Montana offers a wealth of scenic venues for summer events. Highlights include the two-day Blues@The Lake Moubra festival on Aug. 12–13, which presents a mix of jazz and rock performances with free admission. On Aug. 7, soprano Sonya Yoncheva performs an evening recital at Chapelle St-Christophe from 8:30–11 p.m. Violinist Shlomo Mintz appears on Aug. 13 with the Virtuosos of Kiev at Le Régent Congress Center, conducted by Dmitry Yablonsky. On Aug. 15, the Novin Afrouz Quintet presents a concert themed “Silk Road,” blending Western and traditional Asian music, at the Hotel Royal.

In addition to live music, Crans-Montana hosts cultural exhibitions. Until Oct. 2, the Fondation Pierre Arnaud at 1 Route de Crans is showing “Artists for Freedom: The Berlin Wall,” a curated collection of works by multiple artists reflecting on the historical and artistic legacy of the Berlin Wall.

The town’s summer calendar combines accessible public events and ticketed concerts across intimate chapels, grand congress halls, and hotel venues, making it easy to mix outdoor recreation with cultural experiences. Whether you prefer free festival stages by the lake or focused evening performances in historic settings, Crans-Montana’s summer program offers variety for visitors and locals alike.
