Cook at The Greenbrier: Signature Recipes & Cooking Classes

The Greenbrier, the storied resort in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains, dedicates the fourth installment of its inaugural Discovery Series weekends to the culinary arts.

From Feb. 7–9, Executive Chef Bryan Skelding leads a weekend centered on food, offering a mix of hands-on experiences, demonstrations and intimate tastings. Highlights include a chocolate workshop that lets guests work directly with confections, etiquette sessions geared toward modern dining, and a five-course wine-paired dinner. Attendees can also take a behind-the-scenes tour of the resort’s kitchens to see professional culinary operations up close.

Scheduled lectures and demonstrations cover a range of topics: Meet the Candy Maker explores confection techniques; Brilliant Brunch for a Bunch outlines approachable menus and presentation tips for group brunches; and Super Foods You Can Use presents practical ways to add nutrient-dense ingredients to everyday meals. In addition, The Greenbrier’s wine director and sommelier, Brian W. McClure, leads a wine-and-cheese tasting focused on Virginia wines in the Prime 44 Vineyard, pairing regional bottles with complementary cheeses and tasting notes.

Located in White Sulphur Springs, The Greenbrier provides a full range of resort amenities beyond its culinary programming. Guests can enjoy four golf courses, championship indoor and outdoor tennis facilities, and a 40,000-square-foot spa, all set against the scenic backdrop of the Allegheny Mountains. This combination of recreational and culinary offerings makes the Discovery Series weekend an appealing option for both food enthusiasts and those seeking a classic resort escape.
