After a $5.6 million upgrade, the airport now provides free wireless internet through hundreds of access points across its 6.8-million-square-foot terminal complex. The enhanced network supports up to 15,000 simultaneous users — a sevenfold increase compared with the prior system, which required a $4.95 access fee.
“At the world’s busiest and most efficient airport, we must continually look to meet and exceed the demands of our customers,” said Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. “WiFi is no longer considered an amenity; it is a necessity for today’s travelers.”
