Cathay Pacific Launches MyChinaExperience: Discover China Tours

Cathay Pacific Airways has launched #MyChinaExperience, a digital campaign celebrating the wide variety of travel experiences across China. This initiative is the airline’s first campaign focused on travel from the United States to Mainland China, and it highlights authentic, personal stories that inspire exploration.

In partnership with Passion Passport and Shangri‑La Hotels and Resorts, Cathay Pacific opened the campaign with an Instagram photo and video contest. Travelers are encouraged to submit their own travel-inspired images or short videos for a chance to win an immersive trip to China. The prize includes a 10-day itinerary visiting up to three Chinese cities, with flights provided by Cathay Pacific and accommodations by Shangri‑La.

To enter, post an Instagram photo or video by July 24 that shows what inspires you to travel to China, and include the hashtag #MyChinaExperience. Each post must include a caption describing the entry and explaining why it is inspirational. Submissions should be personal and original, reflecting authentic motivation to visit China.

A panel of three travel experts will judge the entries and select a winner plus honorable mentions. The results will be announced on July 26 on the Passion Passport website and via Passion Passport’s Instagram channel.

The contest winner will travel on a 10-day adventure accompanied by a professional videographer from Passion Passport, who will document and share the journey with the Passion Passport community. Travel for the prize is scheduled to take place in September or October 2015.

This campaign aims to showcase China’s diverse landscapes, vibrant culture, and unique city experiences through the perspectives of travelers themselves, offering participants an opportunity to both win a memorable trip and contribute to a larger storytelling project about travel in China.
